Pleass Global Limited’s premium water brand, VaiWai, is all set to make its entry into the Dubai market.
This is through ME&A Corporation (Middles East and Africa Corporation) owned and operated by Nadroga-born Sarah Conrad.
Ms Conrad said this was a significant milestone for a Fijian branded water to enter Dubai.
She confirmed they have already secured 33 retail outlets across Dubai with luxury hotels to be added to the portfolio soon.
“The process included Dubai Government sending auditors to Fiji to VaiWai factory in Namosi to conduct thorough audit,” Ms Conrad said.
“This was to ensure the water bottling process was up to the United Arab Emirates standard.”
Pleass Global marketing director, Cate Pleass, said they were pleased to have another market opened for them.
“It is an interesting market and of course a big one and we are really excited to be entering this market,” she said.
Pleass Global currently exports to USA, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea as well as all the Pacific Island countries.
With the launch done in Dubai, Ms Conrad said the other seven emirates will follow and then they will start supplying into other neighbouring Middle Western countries.
She further said VaiWai will be their flagship Fijian product.
“Following this we continue to seek more local Fijian owned and produced products that fall into the category of natural, herbal and or virgin to introduce to Dubai,” she said.
Ms Conrad announced they are also opening a charity in Fiji which will be directly connected to the VaiWai water sales in Dubai.
She said with every bottle sold, a fixed percentage will go into the fund which will then build homes for the poor and assist in other poverty eradicating measures on the grass roots level.
“The charity WILL NOT be asking for public support or handouts as the model is structured to be self sustaining connected direct to water sales,” Ms Conrad said.
“This is our way of giving back to our community.”
